Money for deposit to an inmate’s account may be left in the form of a money order, cashier’s check, certified check, or Western Union “Quick Collect”
NO CASH, NO PERSONAL CHECKS accepted for deposit to an inmate’s account
Money orders may be left for deposit 24 hours per day, seven days per week in the front lobby, or mailed to the Detention Center:
(Inmate’s Name), 600 Old Frankfort Circle, Lexington, KY 40510
Direct Deposit is available using Western Union “Quick Collect”. Visit your nearest Western Union Agent (Western Union fee is applicable)

When completing the money order please include the inmate’s full and complete name as they are processed in the Detention Center (ie. John Jacob Doe, Jr., Jane Doe 3, Joe Smith)
Commissary is ordered once per week based upon housing assignment; money must be left by 8:30 am, the day commissary is ordered, for commissary use
Inmates may release money to the general public during business office hours. A picture ID is required.
Persons who are no longer incarcerated at the Detention Center may pick up any funds due them during the business office hours. Picture ID is required.
Persons who live further than 75 miles from the Detention Center may request that their funds be mailed to them. In order to do so, Inmate Accounts must receive a notarized letter from the inmate. The letter must include the following information: Inmate's Name, Date of Birth, Social Security Number, and the address to which the check is to be mailed.
